The Root Energy Wheel

The Root energy wheel is where life force energy enters the base of our spine, through the core of the body, releases from the Soul Star energy wheel, and travels along the invisible lines in our electromagnetic field.

Yogic systems stress the importance of stabilizing the root chakra because of its gatekeeping functions with lifeforce energy moving — not just up our spine but through the core of our energy field and then descending and decompressing. Stability in the Root energy wheel can determine quality of life, because the rise of lifeforce and its decompression can take as long as 10 years.

Lifeforce energy shines a light on the shadows closest to our spine. The most subconscious wounds live there, manifesting rushes of emotions, confusion, delusions, phantom symptoms in the body, and periods of bliss soon after the energy has risen. Without a stable Root it can be hard to determine reality from fantasy and delusions.

  • Receives life force energy at the base of the spine and through the core of the body
  • Determines the stability of how lifeforce rises and later decompresses through the energetic field
  • Influences whether we feel safe and how we care for ourselves
  • Requires energetic hygiene, grounding, and daily habits that support stability

A stable Root supports the maintenance of lifeforce energy and helps the body distinguish safety from overwhelm.

Root Moon Cycle Process

The moon beams this month target the base of the spine, nurturing roots birthed from the pelvic floor and amplifying the need for stability.

Genuine visioning happens from the roots up. For many, the roots are shriveled by unacknowledged grief. Restorative grounding practices in this season can help communicate safety to our bodies so we can build capacity for what we have for too long pushed to the side. Resting or stillness is not just about inaction, but about staying in touch with confusion and pain as we act with mindfulness.

Working with This Cycle

What this cycle surfaces
  • Rushes of emotions, confusion, and delusions when lifeforce rises through an unstable Root
  • Phantom symptoms in the body and difficulty determining reality from fantasy
  • Challenges to mental and physical health when the energetic field is dense
  • Questions of safety, self-care, and whether daily habits truly nourish the body
Practices to try
  • Commit to energetic hygiene and grounding into the cycles and rhythms of the Earth
  • Support the pelvic floor and strengthen connection with the Earth Star energy wheel
  • Practice mindfulness in daily habits so you care for yourself physically and energetically
  • Return to grounding practices from the Crown cycle, Death season, and Soul Star cycle
  • Choose restorative grounding practices that communicate safety to the body

Guidance

For the Root Moon Cycle

A stable Root needs energetic hygiene. If we want to regulate and manifest each kundalini rising to be more blissful, we have to tune and ground into cycles and rhythms of the Earth.

Mindfulness and daily habits that feed us lifeforce energy are often a requirement of the body to feel ultimately safe with its operator.

The grounding practices suggested in the Crown cycle, Divine Masculine moon season, and Soul Star cycle help stabilize the Root energy wheel, allowing for a stable connection from root to flower.

Journal Prompts

Restorative grounding practices can help communicate safety to the body so you can stay with what has been pushed aside and move with mindfulness.

  1. Reflect on the symbolism of winter as the season of rest, renewal, and reflection. How does this resonate with you personally?
  2. What emotional, physical, energetic, and mental practices have been grounding for you in the past?
  3. List as many grounding practices as you can, then choose a few and make a daily routine you can stick to for the rest of Death Season.
